WISdom FOCUS™ Support
Overview
WISdom uses resource utilization metric data to provide insight into optimization opportunities. These optimization opportunities
are expressed in terms of efficiency and cost where ever possible.
The FinOps FOCUS schema was designed as a cloud agnostic format to represent billing related data.
The FOCUS working group will develop an open-source specification for billing data. The schema will define data dimensions, metrics, a set of attributes about billing data, and a common lexicon for describing billing data.
FOCUS Conformance Gaps in WISdom
The ability to import FOCUS data is exposed through the WISdom Ingest API.
This data will be used to more accurately calculate actual and projected costs of underlying processes. The API currently supports the entire FOCUS specification
- Note: WISdom does NOT currently offer an export of FOCUS data since it does not directly manage infrastructure. Any export would essentially be a pass-through from the underlying cloud providerʼs data
